Tour in the historic city center where the ancient Cathedral stores  magnificent works of art, sculptures and paintings, legends and traditions. The square of old grain market located in the heart of the  town has the aspect of 16th century.  Saint Fedeles basilica built nine hundred years ago decorated with  the Romanesque and Baroque frescoes.  The medieval Tower will surprise you with its monumental simplicity and with my pleasure I will tell you about who and why it was built in 12th century. After passing through  the tower, we find ourselves on the famous Victory Square where  it will be very interesting to know  what the great hero Giuseppe Garibaldi was doing in Como?....

 

Do not forget that the city of Como is a ancient Roman city, evidence of this can be found not only in the local Archaeological Museum, but also on the city streets ...

Arriving at the lake shore promenade we can choose:

 one hour excursion by public boat on the first basin of Como Lake, admiring the historic villas, in which  for many times in the past the kings and princesses were welcomed guests (Villa Rotonda, Villa Olmo, Villa Troubetzkoy, villa Erba, villa D'Este, and others). During the traveling by boat with tour guide, you will be able to fully enjoy the lake and its attractions that cannot be seen from the main land.

climb by  cable car to Brunate hill (800 meters above sea level) and visit the village on the top of it, where one hundred years ago a lot of summer residences were built by orders of  noblemen from Milan. The architecture of this villas is perfect example of Art Nouveau style.  Brunate offering spectacular views over the city,  the lake and the Alpine mountains. Silence, nature and old streets with courtyards make you  feel that the time stops here and maybe it is possible to catch his happy moment?..
