 The defensive walls of the upper town are visible to every traveler from far. In 16th century  Venetians conquered the territory of Bergamo and had erected impregnable Fortress, using special construction techniques.  

 Even today old Bergamo is hidden  within the ancient  walls as in a cradle. The city welcomes the visitors, offering beautiful masterpieces of architecture and art, the local traditions, cuisine and  tasty wines.

 It seems that time has stopped here in the "Middle Ages station”, then a little - a little moved forward and firmly decided to stay at the Renaissance period.

 

Walking through the winding stones streets, you are immersed in the mysterious history of the castle, as though with the help of a time machine you went in the past, but which is happening now… 

 

 Among the famous natives of the city and Bergamo province are known painter Caravaggio, opera  composer Gaetano Donizetti, poet Torquato Tasso.

 

Have you tried polenta taragna? It is delicious in Bergamo!
