The lake has a glacial origin, the temperature difference between the mountainous shores and the water creates favorable conditions for a peculiar microclimate, due to which the rich flora is represented by plants from all over the world. Already in ancient times, the ancient Romans successfully used Lake Como for navigation. The reservoir does not freeze in winter, during the summer season, the water temperature reaches +24 degrees C, along the shore there are municipal and private beaches. In the northern part, water sports are practiced successfully.
The tourist season on the lake lasts from March to November. A wide range of different types of recreation, from sightseeing to sports.
